Joyce C. Blaskewicz, age 80, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the devoted wife of 59 years of James Blaskewicz. Joyce was born in Derby on December 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Francis and Evelyn Cribbins.
She graduated from Shelton HS Class of ‘61, and served as clerk in the Connecticut Judiciary Branch.
Joyce loved to travel, visiting 49 of the 50 states, and enjoyed camping for over 33 years. She also enjoyed puzzles and knitting. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is the beloved mother of James Blaskewicz Jr. and his wife Tina, and leaves two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Craig Cribbins (Ginger), her sister-in-law Lucy Cerritelli (Al), as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM. On Monday friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial directly at St. Mary’s Church at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
