Joyce Handi, age 89, wife of the late Edward Anthony Handi and lifelong Valley resident, entered into eternal rest at CT Hospice of Branford on March 19, 2017.
She was born in Ansonia Oct. 14, 1927, daughter of the late Frank Childs & Ann Clarke Childs Dechio.
She worked as a medical secretary for Griffin Hospital in Derby where she also volunteered after retirement. She was a member of Christ Church in Ansonia and traveled extensively in Europe with her husband until his passing.
Survivors include her son Edward Handi and wife Jan of Cheshire, daughters Lee Kopec and husband Ken of Seymour and Lori Strauss of Illinois, 8 grand, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Faye Cody, Faye’s husband Dick and son-in-law Fred Strauss.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Ansonia. There are no calling hours.
