Joyce Saldemarco, age 67, wife of the late James Saldamarco Sr. and resident of of Westbrook, died peacefully on Feb. 14, 2016 in Savannah, Georgia with her loving family by her side.
She was born Feb. 9, 1949 in New Haven, daughter of the late Lindsey and Esther McGinnis.
Joyce was a loved member of her community well known for her many acts of kindness, including cooking meals, giving rides or just lending a friendly piece of advise. Joyce loved her dogs, her garden, the beach and all that nature showed her. Joyce carried with her a strong faith in God and relied on him for all her hardships. Joyce’s priority was her family and friends, affectionately known as “Aunt Joyce” to so many, and touched everyone that came in contact with her in a special way.
Joyce is survived by sons Mike and Jason Mann of Westbrook, James Saldamarco Jr. of Shelton, and was a loving sister to Jean Saldamarco (Andrew) of Georgia, Joan McGinnis of California and Marty Kevalis & special sister-in-law Lynn of Ansonia. She also leaves special nephews Marty (Tricia) & Justin Kevalis, special nieces Kerin Patrie and Raina Williams and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her brothers, James McGinnis and Joseph Kevalis and a loving nephew John Kevalis.
Friends may call at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 NOON. Funeral services will begin at 12 NOON. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. (http://www.jenkinskingfh.com/)
