Julie Mary Arnone

Julie Mary Arnone, age 48, a lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered eternal rest on December 18, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Julie was born in Derby on October 2, 1976, beloved daughter of Valerie Grottole Arnone of Ansonia and the late Jospeh D. Arnone. She was a graduate of the former Saint Margaret-McTernan School in Waterbury then went on to attain a Bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University and a Master’s degree from Columbia University in New York City.

Julie was employed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in a variety of settings. She worked at community mental health centers, behavioral health programs, hospital-based school settings, Cancer Care, Hospice care programs, and worked with patients ill with sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, and kidney transplant candidates.

She also worked in a private practice and was a grief counselor at Sandy Hook. Julie was independent, brave, a strong advocate for justice and extremely faithful. Dedicated to God and a beacon of light, she was drawn to help others whenever possible.

Julie volunteered her time teaching religious education at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, mentoring at Girls Inc. in Waterbury and serving as a board member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting old book stores and reading vintage magazines. Her hobbies included singing, dancing, arts and crafts and antiquing.

She also loved frequent trips to Kennebunkport, Maine. Julie was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. She will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts.

In addition to her mother Valerie, Julie leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Joseph J. Arnone (Brianne) of Ludlow, MA, niece, Aliyah Leary, and nephews, Jack, and Matthew Arnone. She was predeceased by her canine nephew Otis.
