June Amsden Kelly, a native of Laconia, NH, passed away on June 5, 2023 at the age of 98. June was one of four children born to Gladys and Ralph Amsden of Laconia, NH.
After graduating from Laconia High School, and receiving her Associate Degree from the University of New Hampshire, June met her future husband when her twin brother Ralph brought his Navy buddy John F. Kelly, Jr. (Frank) home to meet his sister. They fell in love, married and raised their three children in Ansonia, CT, later spending their retirement years in Southbury, CT.
June was a kind, compassionate and loving person who always sought to bring out the best in others by encouraging rather than criticizing. She was a great mother with an easy sense of humor. She was not only funny, she was fun to be around, and she will be sorely missed by her surviving family members: her children, Carolyn (Robert) Smith of Beacon Falls, CT; Mark Kelly of Waterbury, CT; John (Sharon) Kelly of Oak Bluffs, MA; her grandchildren, Michael Santore of Melbourne, FL; Jessica Santore of Fairfield, CT; Jennifer Smith of Morris, CT; Bryan Smith of Norwalk, CT; and her great-grandson Connor Santore of Melbourne, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her loving daughter-in-law Carol Kelly (Mark) as well as her three siblings, Ralph Amsden, Barbara Dooley, and Norma Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at the Bayside Cemetery in Laconia, New Hampshire on Thursday June 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Campbell Lovett.
