On September 13, 2021, June Marie Kostick, of Seymour, passed away at the age of 77.
June was born in Holyoke, MA July 20, 1944 to the late Rose & Max Pijar. June shared 38 years of marriage with John Albert Kostick III before his passing in 2005.
June was the loving mother of two sons and devoted grandmother of four grandchildren. Her eldest son, John Kostick IV of Seymour, his wife Cindy and their children Jack & Marya enjoyed frequent visits with their matriarch. June’s younger son, Jeremy Kostick of Marlborough, his wife Holly and their adult daughters Paisley & Chloe remain inspired by June’s shining example. June also leaves three brothers, John, Richard and Michael.
June sought service to others throughout her life. Graduating from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1965, she devoted 30 years as an RN at Yale New Haven Hospital, working several years in the ICU and five as a supervisor. June volunteered as the St. Mary-St. Michael School Librarian before and after their merge, even helping out as Treasurer during the merge. She was brilliant, selfless and giving, oft donating to the Spooner House.
June’s proficiencies remained gardening and crocheting. She loved her “pride” of two exceedingly entertaining troublemaking cats.
