Karen A. Verrinder

Karen A. (Onofrio) Verrinder, 55, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, August 3, 2015, at Griffin Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of James A. Verrinder.

Karen was born in Derby on Dec. 7, 1959, daughter of Phyllis Matto Onofrio of Ansonia and the late Salvatore S. Onofrio. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Peck Place School in Orange and previously at Griffin Hospital. Karen enjoyed helping others, animals, camping, tag sales and especially spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Matthew J. Verrinder, a daughter, Abby Grace Verrinder, both of Seymour, a brother, Mark Onofrio of Naugatuck and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours will take place on Thursday August 6, 2015, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, her funeral will be held at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 33 Center Road in Woodbridge. Burial will be private.
