Karen Clifford Barber, age 60, of Canton, CT, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on October 19, 2017, in her home.
Karen was born in Derby on March 31, 1957, daughter of the late Daniel M. and Helen Kuzia Clifford. She grew up and graduated from Ansonia Schools and was employed as a pre-school and special needs teacher. For the past twenty years, she was a proud cider maker at Hogans Cider Mill in Burlington where many lasting relationships were formed by Karen and her customers. Karen was a funny, charming, caring person and everyone who met her loved her.
She is survived by two sons, David E. Barber Jr. and Daniel D. Barber of West Haven, two sisters, Mary Ellen Forbes and her husband James of Corsicana, TX and Theresa Clifford Dunlop and her husband Chet of Burlington, CT, cherished nieces, Margaret Dunlop of Burlington and Carol and Jay Jones and their children of TX, cherished nephew, David and Minerva Forbes and their children of TX, twenty-four cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by a brother, John J. “Jacky” Clifford.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 23, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
