Karolina Parker, age 92, of Ansonia peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday January 9, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Mitchel L. Parker. She was born in Germany on February 21, 1929 the daughter of the late Philipp and Kunigunda (Sauer) Folger and the youngest of 9 siblings.
Mrs. Parker immigrated from Germany to America in 1952 with her husband Mitchel, a U. S Army veteran. They settled in the Valley to reunite with her oldest sister Betty and husband Rudy Herbst who had immigrated 21 years earlier. Karolina worked as a lab technician for many years at Miles Laboratories and Bayer Pharmaceutical prior to her retirement in 1995. She was very active in the local senior centers of her community and also looked forward to catching up with her family in Germany on their almost daily phone calls. Karolina also loved cooking and was a baking enthusiast. She will be remembered for all of the delicious cakes that she baked for family and friends.
Mrs. Parker’s family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks for the extraordinary and loving care rendered by the Storm Engine Company Ambulance Corps, Yale New Haven Hospital, Gaylord Rehabilitation, Hewitt Rehabilitation and the Polish Caregivers, LLC over the final years of her life.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her loving son Gary Parker and his wife Jeannette. She was predeceased by her eight siblings.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday January 14 from 4 to 7 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Masks are required to attend the visitation. On Saturday friends are invited to go directly to St. Jude Church, 71 Pleasant View Dr. Derby, for her Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 3, 128 Elizabeth St. Derby, CT 06418 or the Housatonic Council, BSA, 111 New Haven Avenue, Derby, CT 06418.
