Katherine B. O’Donnell, 91, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2015, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Ribby” C. O’Donnell Sr.
Mrs. O’Donnell was born at home in Ansonia on April 26, 1924, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Muschik Smolinsky. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Service Auto Parts in Ansonia from 1959 until her retirement in 1994. During WW 2, she was proud to have worked for the U.S. Navy in Washington, DC. Katherine was very involved with the Sweet Adeline’s singing with its chorus and quartets. She loved animals, especially her cats and dogs.
She is survived by a son, Robert C. O’Donnell Jr. of Ansonia, a daughter, Rosemary O’Donnell of Milford, several nieces and nephews and her feline friend, Ebony. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Fette, brother, Paul Smolinsky and a sister, Dorothea Tabaka.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday December 9, 2015, at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will take place on WEDNESDAY MORNING from 8:30 am until the procession leaves for church.
