Kathleen (Fitzgerald) Geloso

Kathleen (Fitzgerald) Geloso, age 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2022, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Harlow J. Geloso. 

Kathleen was born in Derby on September 29, 1933, daughter of the late David and Catherine McGrath Fitzgerald. A resident of Woodbridge since 1970, Kathleen worked alongside her husband Harlow in their family business, Connecticut Sheet Metal in Bethany. Kathleen enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She spent summers at the family cottage in Becket, MA and winters in Boynton Beach, FL. Kathleen was the past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita in Seymour and a member of the Red Hat Society. Sewing, crafting and cooking Sunday dinners for her family were her most enjoyed hobbies. 

Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory, sons, David H. Geloso (Linda) of Ansonia and James R. Geloso of Woodbridge, daughters, Kathleen Fioto (Howard) of Florida, Maureen Volto (John) of Seymour, Joyce Esposito (Frank) of Orange, and Barbara Cuthbert (Stuart) of Bethany, daughter-in-law, Catherine Geloso of Bethany, twelve grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, canine buddy Smokey, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Geloso, a brother, William Fitzgerald and sisters, Margaret Kellogg and Nora Kenny. The family would like to thank Kathleen’s caregivers, Griffin Hospital and VNA Hospice Nurses for their excellent care. 

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, March 5, 2022, all are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 am, meeting directly, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road in Woodbridge. Interment will immediately follow in Carrington Cemetery, Rainbow Road in Bethany.
