Kathleen M. Confinante, 50, of Ansonia, beloved wife of Joseph D. Confinante Jr., peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning October 10, 2010, at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, with her loving family by her side.
Kathy was born in Derby on June 6, 1960, daughter of James J. Crowley of Ansonia and the late Jean Kemp Crowley.
A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a proud Registered Nurse for Visiting Nurses Association of South Central CT for many years and most recently for New England Home Health Care in New Haven. Kathy enjoyed caring for her many patients throughout her career and was extremely devoted to her family.
In addition to her husband Joe and father Jim, she is survived by a son, Joseph J. Confinante and his longtime girlfriend Ashley Blackstock of Ansonia, a daughter, Nicole C. Fitzgerald and her husband Christopher of New Rochelle, NY, a sister, Susan Mulloy and her husband Larry of Carver, MA, mother in law, Claire Campanelli Confinante of Ansonia, brother in law, Louis J. Golino of Ansonia, sister in law, Diane Mead and her husband Paul of Orange and Donna Duclos and her husband Kenneth of Oxford, nieces and nephews, Kelsey and Jillian Mulloy, Kenneth and Jenna Duclos, Marissa and Matthew Golino and especially Melanie Golino, whom she spent much time with chatting, watching movies, sleepovers, and doing fun things.
She is also survived by her feline friends, Mary, Holly, and Callie and her best canine buddy Maggie. She was predeceased by her dear sister and friend, Nancy J. Golino.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday October 14, 2010, at 9:30 am, (MEETING DIRECTLY), at the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a scholarship being created in Kathy’s memory for a student pursuing a nursing career at St. Vincent’s College of Nursing in Bridgeport. Contributions may be made payable to St. Vincent’s College Scholarship Fund and directed to the funeral home.
