Kathleen Mary Cribbins, age 60, of Shelton, beloved wife of David F. Cribbins, Sr. entered into rest peacefully September 23 at CT Hospice following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in New Haven on March 7, 1950 daughter of the late Inez Gallagher Francesoni and Lawrence Cheshire, and stepdaughter of the late Lenny Francesoni.
She graduated from St. Raphael School of Radiation Technology and worked as an X‑Ray Technologist and Medical Assistant in New Haven, Fairfield and Shelton for 35 years prior to her retirement.
Kathleen was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she chaired the Hospitality Committee, served on the Altar Guild, and was a leader of the Women’s Serendipity Bible Study Group.
She was well known for her cooking of comfort foods and soups for friends, family and church functions. Kathleen was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is the beloved mother of Sarah Wood and her husband Michael, David Cribbins, Jr., loving grandmother of Julianna Kriston, Elijah Wood and Nik, and loving sister of Lauren Malerba of Hamden, Leonard Francesoni and his wife Linda of West Haven, Lois Kudzma and her husband Conrad of Meriden and Joan Grindell and her husband Mark of Hamden. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Rd. Shelton.
Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Monday at 10:15 am for a Funeral Service at 11 am in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Chapel, Huntington Section of Shelton.
