Kristen Leigh Wanzie, age 48, of Seymour entered into rest on Friday, May 31, 2024.
She was born in Bridgeport on September 4, 1975, daughter of the late Frank C. and Diane M. (Clark) Wanzie. Kristen graduated from Ansonia High School in 1993, and later graduated from Academy Di Capelli in Wallingford in 2010. She worked and later owned and operated Hair Port Hair Salon, in Seymour since graduation. She loved owls, Alice in Wonderland, candles, jewelry, country decor, sunflowers, antique shopping and The Pink Sleigh. Kristen loved decorating her place for the holidays. She also loved old movies and could quote lines to most, some she even knew word for word. She had the best memory for funny , childhood memories. She was described by friends as “one of a kind” and having a laugh that “lit up the room”.
Kristen was the beloved sister of Jodi Sinisgalli and her husband Michael and Frank D. Wanzie and his wife Yajaira Gonzalez Wanzie and aunt of Raina, Makenna and Teagan Sinisgalli and Aaliyah and Aria Wanzie who lovingly called her Auntie Krissy. Kristen is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her beloved cat, Jeffrey.
Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 — 10:30 AM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM at the parlor. Her burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
