Lamar Ali Woodhouse, affectionately known to family and close friends as “Manny” or “Monty” and resident of Hamden, entered into his final rest on March 17, 2022. He was born in Derby, CT on March 28, 1982 to the late Andrea Thompson, and Scott Diaz of Ansonia. He attended the former Martin Luther King School and Jackie Robinson School of New Haven, and later received his GED.
Lamar’s life as a young man did not always take him on a path that would serve him well, but those who knew him knew that he would try to make the best out of any situation. Manny was a dreamer. He had aspirations of becoming a singer. He could light a room with just his impressive singing alone. There are many videos of him showcasing his beloved talent on YouTube. Manny also enjoyed good times. He loved being in the presence of good people and having fun. You could always find Manny around family and friends telling jokes and “cuttin up”. He loved being the center of attention.
Manny idolized his dad. His father was his own personal super hero. As a child, Manny would imitate his father’s dance moves and even had his dad’s walk down to a science. It was the funniest and cutest sight. While words may be lost to those of us struggling to come to terms with his sudden and unexpected passing, the many memories of him will remain with us forever and ever.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Father: Scott Diaz; Daughter: Trinity Woodhouse; Sisters: Nikki Woodhouse, Natasha Rudel, Marya Woodhouse, Krystal Woodhouse, Nataya Anderson, Dawn Taylor; Brothers: Emeth Solomon and Micheal Woodhouse; brother in law Keith Hawkins and a host of loving aunts, uncle’s, nieces, nephew’s, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother Andrea Thompson, adopted mother Verline Woodhouse, maternal grandparents Mary Ella Thompson and Collins “Gee” Coleman, paternal grandparents Louis and Katherine Diaz, a niece Davinya Hawkins and two nephews Tylee and Herman Bellamy Jr.
A celebration of the life of Lamar Ali Woodhouse will be held on April 11 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
