Laura Cirisoli Fichura

Laura Cirisoli Fichura, 93, formerly of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2013, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Michael Fichura.

Mrs. Fichura was born in Derby on February 1, 1920, daughter of the late Luigi and Caterina Vagnini Cirisoli. She was a resident of Shelton for most of her life until moving to Tobyhanna, PA in 1986. In 2008, she returned to Connecticut and resided in Derby.

Prior to retirement, Laura was employed at the former Auto Swage in Shelton for 35 years. She enjoyed shopping, reading and current events. Her happiest moments were her times spent with her husband in the Poconos.

She is survived by many close nieces and nephews, especially, Raymond A. Cirisoli of Ansonia, Sharon Hammill of Redding, Timothy Cirisoli Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Marie Griffin of GA, Patrick Ferrillo Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Rita Ferrillo of St. Louis, MO, two sisters-in-law, Julie Prokop and Mary Breyan, and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Cirisoli Sr. and a sister Emma Ferrillo.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a reading of the Liturgy of the Word at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
