Laura M. Viteri, age 78, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday afternoon, September 16, 2019, at The Willows of Woodbridge. She was the beloved wife of Wilfrido E. Viteri.
Mrs. Viteri was born in Quito, Ecuador on January 13, 1941, daughter of the late Alejandro and Luz Maria Gutierrez Chuquin. She was a resident of Derby since 1974 and moved to Ansonia in 1998. She was employed at Hubbell Inc. in Newtown for many years until her retirement. Laura loved to dance and listen to music and enjoyed cooking for her family.
In addition to her husband Wilfrido, she leaves to cherish her memory, loving sons, Mauricio Viteri (Natalia) and Johnny A. Viteri Sr. (Angela) of Ansonia, grandchildren, Kylynn Viteri and Bryan Viteri of Georgia, Savanna Viteri, Xander Viteri, Emilia Viteri, Isabella Viteri and Johnny A. Viteri Jr. of Ansonia, daughter in law, Doris Viteri of Georgia, brothers, Cesar Chuquin and Humberto Chuquin of Quito, Ecuador and Jose Miguel Chuquin of Ansonia as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Galo E. Viteri and brothers, Carlos and Alfredo Chuquin.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday September 20, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, her funeral will begin at 7:45 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia with Rev. Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating.
