Lawrence “Larry” Freehill, age 89, of Stratford entered into eternal rest on Saturday May 25, 2024 in Milford Hospital with his loving family by his side. He is the devoted husband of 60 years to Maureen (Danikow) Freehill.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 18, 1935 son of the late William and Beatrice (Craig) Freehill and was a resident of Greenwich for 45 years before moving to Stratford. Larry worked for 19 years with Town of Greenwich before his retirement
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn. An avid fan of the NY Mets. Spending time with his family and grandchildren are the highlights of his life.
He is the beloved father of Lawrence “Larry” Freehill, Mary Jo French and her husband George, Lori Beth Freehill and John Freehill and his wife Ally, loving grandfather of Jordan and Tyler Weiss, Emma and George French, Ashley and Zac Freehill. He is also survived by one sister Eileen Ross and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother William Freehill and two sisters Mary Griffin and Helen Walsh.
Friends may greet Larry’s family on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5pm to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St, Lawrence Church, Shelton. Private Burial will follow with full military honors in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton.
