Lena Cammarata DeMattio, 92, lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2015. She was the wife of the late Attielo Cammarata and Ralph DeMattio.
Mrs. DeMattio was born in Ansonia on May 24, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Lucy Izzo LaPaglia.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Marguerite Gagnon of Ansonia, brother, Michael LaPaglia of ID, cherished grandsons, Robert Gagnon (Monika) of Orange and Jeffrey Gagnon (Deborah) of MN, great-grandchildren, Marcelle, Brigitte, Viktor, Natalya and Alex Gagnon, daughter in law, Ursula Cammarata, sister in law, Michalena Sampieri and several nieces and nephews, especially, Lisa Hanna, Patricia Nevolis and Sam LaPaglia Jr. She was predeceased by a son, James F. Cammarata, brother, Samuel LaPaglia and son in law, Robert Gagnon.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday May 16, 2015, at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting will take place on Saturday morning from 8:30 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St. in Ansonia.
