Leonard S. Rzasa, age 91, of Ansonia entered into rest on Tuesday Dec. 20, 2022 in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Ansonia on July 4, 1931 son of the late Stanley and Frances Fitol Rzasa. Leonard was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He owned and operated Derby Food Store for many years before taking a position at Crown Market in New Haven. He then became a chef at Jimmies Place in Seymour before his retirement.
He was a member of the Catholic War Veteran St. Michael Post 1562. He was the patriarch of the family who enjoyed holding all the holidays at his home.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Edward and Richard Rzasa and two sisters Mary Bomba and Florence Bailey.
Friends may call on Thursday December 22, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Friends and family are invited to go directly to St. Michael Church 75 Derby Ave. Derby on Friday December 23, 2022 at 8:30 am for the Mass of Christian Burial.
