Leverne Levey, age 55, a former longtime Ansonia resident currently of Suffield, passed away May 17.
He was born August 1958, son of the Rev. Samuel Levey & Jessie Lee Lide Levey, both of Ansonia.
In addition to his loving parents, he leaves his special mother Sue Rhodes of Bridgeport, his devoted brother Ronnie (Ruthie) Levey & sister Nicky Kollie, both of Ansonia, 3 sons, Terrance Gattison, Lavern (Ponchie) Hall & Terrell Paige, all of Ansonia. He leaves 5 aunts, Clara Levey, Norwalk, Evelyn Webster, Ansonia, Dorothy Bailey, Derby, Evangelist Esther Jones & Earlina Robinson both of New Haven, 5 uncles, Leroy Lancaster, Florida, Deacon Richard (Evangelist Mary) Levey, & James Levey, New Haven, Minister Matthew (Lori) Levey, New London, Frank (Kathy) Levey, Bridgeport & niece Yolanda Silva, West Haven as well as several grandchildren & a host of relatives & friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Richard Benjamin & Esther Dinkins Levey & maternal grandparents Nash & Ruth Williams Lide.
A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, May 23rd at 12 Noon at Bishop Williams Church (C.OG.I.C.) in Ansonia. Burial will be private. Friends may call at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
