Lillian Ann Dorso Cassetti March 21, 1926 – March 21, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lillian Ann Dorso Cassetti, who entered into eternal rest on her 99th birthday, March 21, 2025, at her home with her beloved family by her side. She was the widow of Salvatore Cassetti. Lillian was born in Derby, CT, to the late Carmella Salemme and Joseph Dorso.
Lillian was one of nine children and grew up in Derby and moved to Ansonia where she resided for the last 76 years surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was a loving mother to her three sons: Joseph Cassetti (Joyce), Gary Cassetti, and David S. Cassetti (Alfonsina). She was also a loving grandmother to Kara, Sala, Michael, Anthony, Lillian, Jennifer, David Jr and predeceased Charlie. As well as a great grandmother to CJ, Joseph, Giulianna, Giuliana, and Jovi.
Lillian worked for many years at the Spongerubber BF Goodrich Plant 1 in Derby, CT, in the tach shop, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Lillian’s legacy is defined by her unwavering devotion to her family, the kindness she shared with everyone she met and she was very dedicated to her Catholic faith. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, and her warmth and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
The Cassetti family would like to thank Andrew & Ruth and others at Masonicare, Accentcare and all the hospice nurses and aides, Griffin Hospital, TEAM, Father Jeff, Father Thomas, Carlos Schweitzer, Debra, Emily and Martha & Gil Torres for the exceptional care and prayers that were given to Lillian. Rest in peace, Lillian, and may your memory be a blessing to all who loved you.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Dr. Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated (DIRECTLY) at 12 NOON on Wednesday, March 26 at Holy Rosary.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with arrangements.
