Lillian Bartkow Wachuk, a 102-year-old widow of the late Andrew Wachuk, died peacefully at home in Orange on Feb. 11.
She was born in Chester, Penn. on Oct. 17, 1914. She was the beloved daughter of Anna and Paul Bartkow.
Lillian married Andrew Wachuk in Sept. 1939 and they were married for 72 years.
Lillian graduated from Pierce Business College in Philadelphia. She was employed at M.B. Electronics and as an Executive Assistant at Armstrong Rubber Co. in New Haven. She lived in Orange for 69 years. She had a lifelong love of music and entertained her family at the piano her entire life. Lillian was an active member of The Evangelical Baptist Church in Ansonia where she was an organist and pianist. During those years she provided music for numerous weddings, funerals and other celebrations.
Lillian is survived by 2 children, Robert & his wife Nan of Old Saybrook, CT & Kenneth & his wife Nancy of Hamden, CT., her brother Daniel Bartkow of Florida, 2 grandchildren John and Matthew & his wife Jennifer & 2 great grandchildren Will & Ollie.
Friends may call at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia on Sunday, Feb. 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow on Monday, graveside in Pine Grove Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
