Lincoln E. Tice, age 74, longtime resident of Shelton and recently of Beacon Falls, died suddenly on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Bridgeport Hospital.
He is the beloved husband of 55 years of Yvonne (Marquis) Tice.
Lincoln was born in Westfield, MA on July 14, 1936, son of the late William Leonard and Lena (Gamble) Tice, and lived in Shelton for most of his life before moving to Beacon Falls eight years ago.
He worked in construction for many years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478.
Since retiring, he worked at the Garder Hill Landfill for the Town of Monroe. Lincoln was a devoted family man who most enjoyed being with his wife, children, and all his grandchildren.
He is the beloved father of Lloyd Tice and his wife Bonnie, Marilyn Tice and her partner Carol, Mark Tice and his wife Toni, and Russell Tice and his wife Donna. He also leaves three brothers, Donald, Kenneth and Sidney Tice, two sisters, Winonna Gamble and Virginia Johnson, four cherished grandchildren, Jason and his wife Jen, Megan, Ryan, and Tyler Tice, a great grandson Colton, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends can greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and are invited to his funeral service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, 237 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, CT 06418, or through the funeral director.
