Linda Ann (Cottrell) Amico

Linda Ann (Cottrell) Amico, age 71, entered eternal rest on April 16, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. 

She was the devoted wife of fifty-one years to Richard J. Amico.

Born in Milford on September 12, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Lorraine Mehrhoff Cottrell. Linda was a 1971 graduate of Milford High School and employed as a records clerk for the Ansonia Police Department for many years until her retirement. 

Linda took great pride in taking care of her home and spending time gardening to beautify her yard. She also loved to cook and share her delicious meals with family and friends. Linda was a talented seamstress, enjoyed all types of arts and crafts and was very creative in making beautiful jewelry pieces. 

She will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.

In addition to her husband Rick, Linda leaves to cherish her memory, brothers, Richard, and Randy Cottrell both of Florida, sister, Cynthia Rifkin (Joshua) of Milford, in-laws, Nicholas and Evelyn Amico Sr. of Ansonia, brother-in-law, Nicholas Amico Jr. of Ansonia, nieces and nephews, Crystal Quaranta, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Suzanne, and Caitlin Cottrell, Angela Shinall and Nicole Fiorelli (Alex) along with canine companions, Duke and Daisy. 

She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Cottrell (Monica) and brother-in-law, Joseph P. Jay” Amico.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. 

On Tuesday morning all are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial by meeting directly at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
