Linda Gloria Hyman (Bush)

Linda Gloria Hyman, age 72, of Derby, peacefully entered into rest at home on Saturday, July 6, 2024 surrounded by family. She was the devoted wife of Franklin D. Hyman for 46 years. Linda was born in Derby on March 17, 1952, daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (McCarthy) Bush, and lived in Derby for over 40 years.

She served as a CNA at Gardner Heights for more than 50 years. Linda was a loving and caring person who enjoyed a good game of parcheesi or a trip to the casino with family and friends and always treasured the fact she was born on St. Patrick’s Day. She had a warm heart for cats and dogs, giving a home to several strays and food and warmth to others in the neighborhood.

Linda is the beloved mother of Donna, Debra, Diane, and Tashua and proud grandmother of Abbey Hedlund; Jenna and Anthony Malino; Michael Russell; and Rebecca, Michael, Melissa, Sandra, and Sabrina Copp. She also leaves behind a niece, Melanie, who held a special place in her heart, and two sons-in-law whom she loved as her own.

A strong matriarch and fiercely protective friend, Linda will be missed by all who were blessed enough to have known her.

The Edward F. Adzima funeral home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, is entrusted with the funeral arrangements, which are private. Memorial contributions can be made to Murphy’s Paw Rescue at https://www.murphyspaw.org/don….
