Linda L. Penny, age 75, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late John E. Penny, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bridgeport on February 7, 1950, Linda was the daughter of the late Stephen and Nora Nolan-Lyons. She grew up in Bridgeport and graduated from Harding High School. A longtime resident of Bridgeport, Linda moved to Ansonia in 2012 and later to Seymour in 2022. Linda was a lifelong Elvis fan who enjoyed bingo, Monopoly, and board games. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Malinda Nazario and her husband Raul of Cromwell, and Sherry Penny-Simmonds and her husband Donald of Florida; cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Kennedy, McKenzie Nazario, Alexandria (Lexi) Nazario, all of Cromwell and Justin and Jayden Simmonds of Florida; her niece Margaret Rivera; nephew James Nolan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Linda was predeceased by her sister Rita Penny and brothers Anthony Nolan and Ronald Nolan.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, located at 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford.
