Loretta (Guardiano) Belfanti

Loretta (Guardiano) Belfanti, 89, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2012, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Belfanti.

Mrs. Belfanti was born in Derby on Oct. 9, 1922, daughter of the late Eustachio Jim” and Angelina Lupone Guardiano. A lifelong resident of Derby, she was employed at the W.E. Bassett Co. in Derby until her retirement.

She is survived by two brothers, Joseph L. Guardiano and his wife Joan of Ansonia and Anthony Guardiano and his wife Carol of Oxford, a son in law, Edward F. O’Brien of Plymouth, MN, two granddaughters, Beth Ann Driehaus and her husband Dan and Amy Marie Polignano and her husband Doug of Cincinnati, OH, two great-granddaughters, Eleanor Kathleen Driehaus and Quincy Claire Driehaus, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen M. O’Brien, a brother, Vincent Guardiano, and sisters, Mary Palange and Helen Gannon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday June 12, 2012, at 10:30 am at St. Jude Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum in Derby. Visiting will take place on TUESDAY MORNING from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
