Loretta Kichard

Loretta C. (Lottie) Kichard was born in Willimantic, on February 1, 1923. Lived in Ansonia for 32 years then moved to Shelton. 

In 2015, she moved to SW Florida to be closer to her family. Daughter of the late Salomea and Edward Osuch, she is survived by her sister, Helene (Sam) Pacowta of Port Charlotte, FL, a very special godchild and her husband, Chris and Daniel Twerion of Punta Gorda, FL and their sons, Don and Steve Twerion and his wife, Jessica. She would like to acknowledge her loyal and best friend for more than 45 years, Sally Ambro of Shelton, her wonderful neighbors and friends, Elaine and Art Newberg, Antoinette Roy, Norma Fitzgerald and Lil McPadden who provided assistance and support during her illness and many nieces and nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew Kichard, Sr. to whom she was married for 37 years, her son, Andrew Jr (Rush) and three sisters, Bernice (Frank) Zalenski of Ansonia, Jennie (Dan) Kwochka of Seymour, Estelle (Mike) Supranovich of Ansonia and one brother, Henry (Sophie) Czelusniak of Seymour.

Loretta graduated from Assumption School in Ansonia and Ansonia High School Class of 1940. She worked at General Electric (Bridgeport), B.F. Goodrich (Shelton) for 27 years and then retired from Latex Foam in 1986. She was a member of the Ansonia, Derby and Shelton Senior Centers. In Shelton, she had been an active volunteer, on the Executive Board and served in the past as Center President for 5 years. She belonged to the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary in Derby, the American Russian Citizens Club of Shelton, AARP and RSVP. She was a charter member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Ansonia and served as their past Department Commander. She was a V.A.V.S. representative at the West Haven Veterans Hospital volunteering for more than 36 yrs/5000 hours. She was a past member of the Sunny Red Hatters of Shelton and also traveled to many countries after her retirement. She made many new friends in her new home in Florida. loved life and those around her loved to spend time with her. She loved to dance, take part in bingo and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. 

Friends may greet her family on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Thursday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery
