Lorraine K. (Niezelski) Bludnicki, age 86, a resident of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, September 16, 2022, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Bludnicki.
Lorraine was born in Derby on April 1, 1936, daughter of the late Theodore and Laura Danielski Niezelski. A graduate of the Hospital of St. Raphael School of Nursing, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at the former Marshall Lane Manor in Derby until her retirement in 2001. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. Lorraine was an avid reader, enjoyed crewel embroidery, and never missed taking her daily walk. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Ed, especially their yearly winter trips to Sarasota, FL and one of her favorite vacations was visiting Poland. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.
In addition to her husband Ed, she leaves a son, Edward J. Bludnicki II (Catherine) of Wallingford, daughters, Laura Jane Binkowski (Michael) of Old Lyme and Karen Elizabeth Pernaselci of Seymour, grandchildren, Emily Bludnicki of Ansonia, Claire Bludnicki of Stamford, Mitchell and Hannah Bludnicki of Wallingford, Michael Binkowski (Jocelyn) of Norwood, MA, Chelsea Sevigny (Michael) of Westwood, MA, Troy, Chloe, Kyra and Luke Pernaselci of Seymour, great-grandson, Spencer Binkowski of Norwood, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Niezelski.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, her funeral will be held at 10:00 am (please meet directly) at St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial.
