Lorraine McCarthy Kingston
Died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 20, 2022 in the Griffin Hospital at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Hannah Fitzgerald McCarthy. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and reading books.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1990. She was a graduate of the Assumption School and the Ansonia High School class of 1948 where she was a member of the Eta Beta Theta sorority. She was a devout catholic, belonging to the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia having participated in several committees throughout the years.
She is survived by her beloved children Joseph (Barbara) Kingston of Ansonia and Maureen (Tom) Laskowski of Fort Mill, SC. Her grandchildren Tom Laskowski and Erin (Jeff) Gluck all of Charlotte, NC; Joseph Kingston III of Ansonia, Jeremiah Kingston of Girdwood, AK and her great-granddaughter Juliette Gluck. She is also survived by sister-in-law Barbara McCarthy and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her siblings Peggy Moore and Donald McCarthy.
Her calling hours will be 9:00 – 10:30 Monday, November 28, 2022 from the John T. Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff Street, Ansonia followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in the Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. Burial will be in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assumption School in care of the funeral home.
