Lorraine (Zalenski) Krueger

Lorraine (Zalenski) Krueger, age 79, entered into eternal rest on March 16, 2021, at Griffin Hospital. 

Mrs. Krueger was born in Derby on July 8, 1941, daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie Zalenski. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, she was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Wesley Heights in Shelton until her retirement. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia where she taught religious education, volunteered at the Rectory and worked at the annual Parish Picnic. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, Connecticut State Marshall Richard O. Krueger, a son, Richard D. Krueger (Rima) of Oxford, a daughter, Jan Gunther (Bernard) of Lexington, MA, brothers, Anthony Zalenski of Ansonia and Theodore Zalenski (Mary) of TN, grandchildren, Lauren Melnikov (John) of Monroe, Richard E. Krueger (Kelsey) of N. Branford, Maximilian Gunther of Lexington, MA and Zachary Gunther of Japan, great-grandchildren, Amerie Santos, Kayleigh Melnikov and Brenton Melnikov of Monroe, several nieces and nephews, especially, Ania Fried (Russell) and their daughters, Isabella and Madeline. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Zalenski. 

Due to the current health concerns surrounding the pandemic, a private funeral Mass followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby will privately take place. Contributions in Lorraine’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
