Louise I. Romano, age 80, of Medway, Massachusetts, formerly of Derby, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Derby, CT July 30, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Irene (Gaudio) Romano. Louise had been a resident of Medway for the past 2 ½ years after spending most of her life in Derby, CT. She worked for many years as a staffing coordinator at Griffin Hospital in Derby, a role in which she took great pride before retiring.
Louise was best known for her love of cooking and baking. Whether it was the smell of fresh cutlets or her devil dogs, alongside her sister Helen there was always something cooking in her kitchen. Her birthday and wedding cakes made for her family became treasured centerpieces at countless family celebrations. Some of her happiest times were spent in the kitchen with her nieces and nephews sharing her treasured family recipes. Above all, her greatest joy came from being surrounded by the people she loved.
She is survived by her sister Helen Federico and her husband Robert of Medway, and her sister-in-law Sharon Romano of Oxford CT. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Irene Nelson and her husband Todd, Lisa Manson and her husband Dan, Deborah Romano, Louis Romano and Pasquale Romano Jr. and his wife Kelly. Louise was a proud great aunt to Tori, Tara, TJ, Matt, Mark, Julia, Leila, Alana, Ella, and also niece Nicole from Virginia, and great great aunt to Siena and Ariana. She is also remembered with love by many extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Pasquale Romano and Kathleen Romano.
She will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Monday, June 2, at 11:00 am at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery 219 New Haven Ave. Derby CT. Everyone is invited to continue to celebrate Louise’s life by joining her family after the service at the repast at Biagettis Restaurant, 77 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT.
