On Saturday, January 30, 2021, Louise Loomis – formerly of Bethany, CT – passed away at Shady Knoll Healthcare Center at the age of 99.
She is predeceased by five siblings and two husbands and survived by her daughter, Holly Bradshaw (Ansonia, CT) and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a young woman, Louise worked as a draftswoman at Farrell-Birmingham Corporation (Ansonia, CT) and participated in their Old Timer’s Variety Show as a singer of “Big Band” music. She loved to sing and later during her married life, recorded tapes of her personal performances.
Louise was a traditional and active New Englander. She savored all four seasons: enjoying summers at the seashore, ice skating and skiing during the winter and family travels to historic places during spring and fall.
Louise also had a passion for painting. Her favorites were landscapes and still life subjects using oil, acrylic and pastel media. She was proud to display her artwork both at a regional library and as an exhibiter during yearly shows of The Art of Experience-Pomperaug Woods.
Chapel and gravesite services at Pinegrove Cemetery are planned for fall of 2021.
