Lucy M. (Chevarella) Cerniglia, age 86, entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2017, in the comfort of her home in Essex Junction, VT. She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Cerniglia.
Mrs. Cerniglia was born in Derby, CT on August 22, 1930, daughter of the late Louis and Lucy Carmasino Chevarella. She grew up in Ansonia, CT, lived in Seymour, CT after she married and moved to Essex Junction to be closer to her daughter Karen several years ago.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted daughter, Karen A. Miller (Mark) of Essex Junction, VT, cherished granddaughters, Kristin Darrah (Mark) of Saranac, NY and Tracey Footer (Jeremy) of Park City, UT, great-granddaughters, Samantha and Genevieve Darrah and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Peter and Joseph Chevarella and sisters, Mary Cannici and Catherine Leggio.
Friends and relatives may greet the family on Friday June 16, 2017, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of Lucy’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
