Lydia Preschel, age 79, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the devoted wife of the late Marvin Preschel. Lydia was born in Hilversum, Netherlands on August 23, 1944, and she lived in Shelton for over 50 years.
She worked at Stop & Shop and was a former home health Aide with TEAM before she retired. Lydia enjoyed yoga and loved animals — she always had cats.
She is the beloved mother of Erik Preschel and David Preschel and his wife Bridget, and the proud grandmother of Samuel, Rory, and Nicholas Preschel. She also leaves two brothers, Theo and Hans Dunnewijk and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie-Jose.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements, which are private.
