Maco “Butchie” James III, age 57, of Ansonia, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2009 at Griffin Hospital after a brief illness.
Maco was born January 5, 1952 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the son of Anna (Thomas) Douglas of Ansonia and Maco James II of Brooklyn, N.Y. and step son to Julius Douglas of Ansonia. In addition to his parents, he leaves to mourn two sisters, Lydia (Douglas) Cordova, (Gaspari) from Maryland, Ellen James from Brooklyn, N.Y. one brother Anthony Price also of Brooklyn N.Y.
He also leaves two foster children, Crystal & Alicia Cassisi of Derby and a long time friend, Carmella Cassisi of Ansonia.
Also to mourn are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and life long friends. Maco graduated from Ansonia High School and Tarrytown Auto Mechanics School in New York.
Before his death Maco was employed by Taunton Packing Co. of Oxford.
Butchie was an avid fisherman and an excellent auto mechanic. He truly enjoyed helping others whenever called upon.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church, 243 Pershing Drive, Ansonia.
Friends may call on Thursday, at church 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
Donations in memory of Maco can be made to Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, 130 Division St. in Derby.
