Margaret Dell’Orso, 90, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2016, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Deacon John Dell’Orso Sr.
Mrs. Dell’Orso was born in Ansonia on July 16, 1926, daughter of the late Jack and Frances DeStefano Fiore. A lifelong resident of the Ansonia community, she was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church and a member of its Women’s Bocce League. Margaret enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo, visiting the casino and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, John V. Dell’Orso (Karen) of Woodbury, a daughter, Susan M. Dell’Orso of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Kristie Lane (Gerrick) of Milford, John Dell’Orso III (Corine) of New Milford, Joseph Houde (Jessica) of Cheshire, Gregory Houde of Florida and Megan Chaghatzbanian (Aram) of NC, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Ann Ardito of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Madigosky and Theresa Dell’Orso.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 6, 2016, (TODAY) from 2 – 5 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
