Margaret Root

Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Turick Root, 74, of Ansonia, wife of the late Paul (Red) Root, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 18 in St. Raphael’s Hospital.

Born in Derby on March 10, 1944, daughter of the late John T. and Mildred (Behuniak) Turick Sr., Peggy was the legal secretary for the Law Office of Eugene Skowronski and later for Condon and Savitt Law Office. Formerly of Derby for 50 years, she moved back to Ansonia a year ago to reside with her daughter and grandchildren. 

A communicant of St. Jude’s Church, she was a Eucharist Minister and former President of the Ladies Guild. In her free time she loved tag sales and flea markets. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Peggy will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Survived by son Jack (Jill) Root of Stratford, daughter Paula M. Wilczynski of Ansonia, brother Thomas J. Turick of Harwinton, grandchildren Katelyn and Christopher Root, Ryan and Aidan Wilczynski. Predeceased by her brother John T. Turick Jr.
