Margaret Schroeter

Margaret Schroeter, 98, of Wallingford, formerly of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 26, 2014, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Schroeter. 

Mrs. Schroeter was born in Ansonia on August 12, 1916, daughter of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth Clark. She was a resident of Ansonia for 92 years until moving to be with her son 6 years ago. Margaret was employed as a secretary at the former Ansonia-Derby Water Co. for many years. She was a graduate of Assumption School and a life-long communicant of Assumption Church in Ansonia. She enjoyed reading and visiting the casino.

She is survived by a loving and devoted son, Harold Bud” Schroeter and his wife Darlene of Wallingford, grandchildren, Meeca, Gretchen, Kathy and Paul. She also leaves great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Sazanow and several brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday October 30, 2014, at 11:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff Street in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ansonia. There will be no calling hours.
