Margaret Sweeney, an 83-year-old Shelton resident, former longtime resident of Ansonia & Seymour CT., and the wife of late John D. Sweeney, entered into eternal rest Jan. 8 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton.
She was born August 5, 1938 in Derby, CT., daughter of the late William and Mary Cook Callaghan.
She is survived by a sister Ann Donovan of Southington, 2 daughters Lynda Cohen and husband Dr. Paul Cohen, of Massapequa Park NY., Jane Elmy and husband Joseph Elmy of Acworth GA., 4 grandchildren Samuel Cohen of Massapequa Park NY., Justin Elmy and wife Rebecca Elmy of Dallas GA., and Dylan Elmy of Acworth GA., Zackary Elmy of Acworth GA., and one great grand child Jack Elmy, as well as several nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with arrangements.
