Margot A. (Tanner) DeMelis

Margot A. (Tanner) DeMelis, age 81, entered eternal rest on January 25, 2024, at her home in Seymour with her loving husband Anthony DeMelis by her side.

Margot was born in Passaic, NJ, on August 7, 1942, daughter of the late George and Margaret Mennel Tanner. She was a resident of Seymour for thirty-four years. Margot retired from being employed as secretary to the President of Farrell Corporation in Ansonia, after forty-eight years. She was a member of both the Red Hat Ladies Society in Ansonia and the Ansonia Senior Center. Margot loved to travel and cruise extensively with her husband Tony, especially to Aruba. She will sadly be missed but will remain in our hearts forever.

In addition to her husband Tony, Margot leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Walter R. Tanner (Darlene) of Ansonia, lifelong friend, Frances Gorman of Ansonia, her loving and devoted longtime caregiver, Megan and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother George Tanner.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday morning, all are welcome to attend her funeral service at 10:00 am, in the funeral home, with Deacon Victor Lembo, officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour. Contributions in Margo’s memory may be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Association at: https://act.alz.org.
