Margueriette Battle Tinney, 99 years old and resident of Ansonia, went home to be with the lord September 24, 2009. She was born Feb. 1, 1910 in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Rev. John & Sadie Pettey Battle.
In addition to her husband Raymond Tinney Jr., she was predeceased by three brothers, Lafayette, Leroy & Aubrey Battle and one son Howard Tinney Sr. She is survived by daughters, Delores Tinney Valeriano & Vivian Tinney, grandchildren, Darcelle Roseboro (Steve) Howard Tinney Jr. (Jaqueline), Anita Green (Ephriam) Gary Tinney (Felicia) and Andrea & Mark Tinney. She is survived by one God son, Charles Brown, 12 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, several nieces & nephews, and extended family Valerie Borock (Morris) and Betty Staal.
Funeral services will be held on Monday 11:00 a.m. from the Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church, with burial following in Pine Grove Cemetery, both in Ansonia.
