Marguerite “Marge” Candelli

Marguerite Marge” Candelli, age 92, entered into eternal rest on November 1, 2021, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Candelli. 

Marge was born in Derby on March 7, 1929, daughter of the late John and Olga Morbidelli Gaetano. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford and a member of the Oxford Senior Center. Marge enjoyed cheering on UConn Women’s basketball, playing Scrabble and was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Greg Karabeinikoff of San Francisco, CA and Steven Karabeinikoff (Doreen) of Hamden, a sister, Lena Cammarata of Derby, grandchildren, Melissa Abbott (John DiPiro) and Justin Abbott of Seymour, Rachel Flanagan (Kevin) and Renee Karabeinikoff of Hamden, great-grandchildren, Courtney Abate, Christopher Abate II and Caitlyn Abbott, great-great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jack Flanagan and Calianna and Jax Fiscella as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Abbott and sisters, Dolores Bailey, Elizabeth Betty” Sardo and Gloria Palmieri. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 9:00 am until 10:15 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will then proceed to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mt.
