Maria Klimaszewski, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2015 in the care of the Season’s Hospice at Hewitt Memorial Hospital.
Born in Poland, Maria came to the U.S. in 1960 and worked for Narofabric, W.B. Bassett and Stop & Shop until her retirement.
She was an avid parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. She loved gardening, cooking, fishing and in her senior years, bus trips to Atlantic City.
She is predeceased by her brothers Kashmir and Victor Haponik of Poland and her husband of 51 years, Stephan Klimaszewski. She is survived by her loving children son Ted Klimaszewski and his children, Kate and Andrew. Her daughter, Diane and her husband Paul Wasilewski and granddaughter Taylor. Maria is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Saturday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Ansonia.
