Maria E. (Capellaro) Tucker, 93 of Seymour, formerly Oxford, the beloved wife of the late Burton S. Tucker passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour.
She was born in Danbury, CT on October 15, 1920 the beloved daughter of the late Remo and Catherine Muehlfeld Capellaro.
Maria was a resident of Oxford for 50 years before moving to Seymour in 2009. She was a communicant of The Oxford United Church of Christ, Congregational. During her life, she was a beautician at the former Green Beauty Shop in Danbury and also worked at the family catering business Capellaro’s Grove of Bethel. Maria loved entertaining family and friends, gardening, baking, oil painting, knitting, doing all sorts of crafts and playing cards with her friends. Maria will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will remain forever in our hearts.
Maria’s loving family includes her devoted daughter Joyce Upson and her husband Warren of Oxford, a loving sister Jeanette Peart and her husband Clarence of Brookfield, several caring nephews, a caring niece and her best friend Ida Litscher.
A Funeral Service will be offered for Maria on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Rt. 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour, with Pastor Gale E. Grayson, officiating. Interment in the family plot will follow in Oxford Congregational Church Cemetery, Oxford. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
