She was the daughter of the late Joseph John Matusovich and Mary (Puro) Matusovich. She was raised in Ansonia and attended Ansonia schools, graduating in 1949 from Ansonia High School.
Soon after, Marian began her work career and was an avid bookkeeper with the Ansonia Brass Company. Her meticulousness and attention to detail attributed to her success in this position. In 1954, she married the one love of her life, Frank A. Misiewicz, Sr.. He had also attended Ansonia High School but they didn’t date until well after their high school years. Within a couple of years, Marian and Frank moved to their new lifelong home in Seymour and raised a family of three children. Marian was devoted to raising her children and providing them with a strong foundation. She worked diligently, along with her husband, to instill in them strong moral and ethical values. She also took great pride in her home and property which were always kept in immaculate condition despite raising three children there. Years later, she returned to work in the Seymour school system for a short period of time.
As a lifelong parishioner and communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia, Marian was very active in the Women’s Guild, serving in many capacities over the years. She was also very dedicated to the education of her children who all attended St. Joseph’s School, driving them to and from school every day for the eight years they each attended as well as reviewing their homework assignments each and every day.
After her children left home for college, Marian enjoyed the great fortune of traveling throughout many parts of the United States, Europe and Russia with her husband and their friends. With a memory as sharp as a razor, she could recount numerous tales from these adventures until the day she passed.
