Marianne A. Klimkowsky

Marianne A. Klimkowsky, age 77, beloved wife of David P. Klimkowsky of Seymour, died peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her family at Griffin Hospital. 

Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Agnes Thomas Prosnick. Mrs. Klimkowsky was raised in Shelton and was a 1965 graduate of Shelton High School. 

She enjoyed a long career working in the Benefits Department of the United Illuminating Co. for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2007. 

Mrs. Klimkowsky was a talented artist and created many drawings, etchings and floral crafts that brightened her home and homes of many fortunate recipients. She found great joy in hosting family gatherings, especially for the holidays when her baking and homemade pierogi were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Klimkowsky found an entirely new identity as a grandmother and supported her grandchildren in their every endeavor. 

In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Cheryl Sampiere and her husband, Peter of Seymour and David Klimkowsky of NJ; a brother, Michael Prosnick and his wife, Denise of RI; cherished grandchildren, Peter and Victoria Sampiere, both of Seymour; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Prosnick. 

Family and friends may call on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton, at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
