Marie T. MacDowell, age 98, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Delano MacDowell.
She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on July 11, 1924, daughter to the late Dominic and Philomena (Greco) Bologna. Marie was a loving homemaker who had a passion for cooking. Her homemade pasta gave her the title of best cook to her family and friends. She loved sewing, playing cards, and reading.
Marie is survived by her son Frank MacDowell, daughter Rose Marie (Joseph) Mazza, sons Robert MacDowell and James MacDowell, grandsons Robert Macdowell Jr., Alan Rider Jr. granddaughters Michelle Rider and Holly Rider, four great grandchildren, and brother Frank Bologna. She was predeceased by her son Delano MacDowell, daughter Joan Rider, brothers Rocco Bologna, Carmen Bologna, Antonio Bologna, and Joseph Bologna, and sisters Rose Grich, Jennie Garby, Peirina Bologna, and Josephine Bologna.
Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4:00 pm — 7:00 pm at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, CT. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30am for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton, CT. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT.
