Marija Marciniak, age 104, entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2022, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Stefan Marciniak.
Mrs. Marciniak was born in the Ukraine on February 2, 1918. A resident of Ansonia for most of her life, she was employed as a factory worker for the former Practical Automation in Shelton. Marija loved traveling and taking cruises. Over the years, she has visited Australia, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Mexico and Colombia. She loved to bowl, play bingo and enjoyed occasional trips to the casino.
Marija leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Stephen Marciniak (Betty) of Seymour, John Marciniak (Donna) of Seymour and Paul Marciniak (Carol) of Oxford, a daughter, Nancy Threlfall (Glen) of Morris, CT, son-in-law, John D. Soldra Sr. of Ansonia, former daughter-in-law, Eileen Marciniak of CO, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Luba Soldra, and a sister, Agatha Fartuszynski.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62, Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, all are invited to attend her funeral service at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend Patrick Burns officiating.
